The control system calculates the active power, reactive power, and power factor by collecting the three-phase voltage and current at both the high and low voltage sides. It comprehensively considers voltage fluctuations and reactive power shortages and reasonably controls the switching of the capacitor bank using a three-phase unbalance adjustment strategy. This ensures the supply and demand balance of reactive power in the submerged arc furnace short-circuit network, thereby improving supply voltage quality, power factor, system efficiency, and reducing system loss. Control parameters can be chosen from either the high voltage side's voltage and current or the low voltage side's voltage and current. The system protection functions include high voltage side overvoltage and undervoltage protection, low voltage side overvoltage and undervoltage protection, as well as overcurrent, unbalanced current, high power factor, harmonic, temperature, and circulating water protection functions.
